Roles of Student Council

• To enhance communication between students, management and staff.
• To promote an environment conducive to educational and personal development.
• To promote friendship and respect among pupils.
• To support the management and staff in the development of the college.
• To represent the views of the students on matters of general concern to them.
• To assist in organising all cultural/sports and other academic events held in the college. To officially represent all the students in the Institute.
• To identify and help solve problems encountered by students in the Institute.
• To communicate its opinion to the Institute administration on any subject that concerns students and on which the council wishes to be consulted.
• To promote and encourage the involvement of students in organizing Institute activities.

Responsibilities of Student Council

• Make College Activity Report.
• Promote and Highlight the Best Practice of the College.
• Maintain the College Discipline.
• Communicate the Students’ Concern
• Promote students' interests to the administration.
• Organise the different Clubs Events.
• Write a Daily News.
• Student council members represent students at official events.
• To promote the interests of students among the Institute administration, staff and parents.
• To inform students about any subject that concerns them.
• To identify and help solve problems encountered by students in the Institute.
• To consult students on any issue of importance.
• To organize educational and recreational activities for students.
• To participate in developing the Institute’s educational projects and to promote it to students.
• To organize an activity to recognize the efforts of students involved in organizing Institute activities.
• To propose activities to the Institute administration that would improve the quality of life in the Institute.
• To maintain good relations, out of mutual respect, with the Institute staff (the Principal, teaching and non-teaching personnel) and parents.

Common Roles of the Members of Student Council

General

• To act as official spokesperson for the council in its relations with the students and the Institute administration.
• To call meetings of the council and to prepare the agendas.
• To chair the meetings of the council.
• To supervise the tasks of the council members.
• To take part in all special committees formed by the council or send a representative to such committees.
• To represent the students on official occasions.

Academic, Monitoring & Extra Inputs

• Coordinate activities for Extra Inputs and suggest extra inputs in consultation with the students.
• Submit timely, documented and true feedback of the extra inputs to the Management.

Discpline

• Review the attendance in the class as well as when the students attend functions and programmes in the Institute and outside the Institute.
• Ensure that the students adhere to the disciplinary policies of the Institute at all times.

Events

• Arrange Intra-collegiate events and ensure participation of students in Inter college events.

Alumni & E-Cell

• Establish a network with the alumni through various activities conducted by the college like alumni meet, and interact with the alumni at various forums and always maintain an updated database of the alumni.
• Host various workshops, speaker sessions, innovative games, competitions for aspiring entrepreneurs and support them by providing necessary resources such as, mentoring, consultancy and networking.

Physical Fitness & CSR

• Ensure that students are involved in some kind of physical activity like yoga, aerobics, gym etc.
• Arrange sports day in the Institute in consultation with Sports and Games Committee.
• Involve the students in CSR activities like arranging Blood donation camps, helping the affected during natural calamities.

Individual Roles of the Members

President

• Administer, enforce, and abide by the Student Council Constitution.
• Attend all official meetings and events.
• Preside over all meetings.
• Assist with the scheduling and preparation of agendas and minutes.
• Prepare and distribute agendas for all meetings.
• Oversee the running of all meetings; this includes following parliamentary procedure, facilitating discussion and preserving order.
• Prepare a program agenda at the beginning of each semester, which includes: calendar of events for the semester, campus issues to be addressed, and community service projects.
• Motivate students to participate in cultural activities.
• Be the official spokesperson for the Student Council of SXC, Simdega.

Vice-President

• Administer, enforce, and abide by the Student Council Constitution.
• Assist the President in the daily operations of the organization.
• Attend all official meetings and events.
• Assist with the scheduling and preparation of the organization's agendas and minutes.
• Assume duties and powers of the President in his/her absence.
• Directly oversee all responsibilities for event planning committees.
• Oversee the publicity for all campus events.
• Motivate students to participate in cultural activities.
• Keep track of all office and program supplies/needs.

Secretaries

• Administer, enforce, and abide by the Student Council Constitution.
• Attend all official meetings and events.
• Prepare and distribute agendas for each meeting.
• Record and compile minutes at every meeting.
• Prepare and distribute minutes from the previous meeting.
• Maintain an accurate file of all meetings, events and conferences.
• Maintain a current directory of the organization officers, members, and advisors.
• Take attendance at all organization meetings.
• Coordinate with the cultural societies of SXCS.
• Arrangement of all cultural programs at SXCS as per requirement.
• Motivate students to participate in cultural activities.
• Prepare and distribute agendas for each meeting.
• Coordinate with students of their department.
• Active participation in promotion and organization of event.
• Motivate students to participate in cultural activities.
• Maintain all financial records for Student Council activities at SXCS.
