Hostel Rules and Regulations

1. Students must occupy the rooms allotted to them and should not change/exchange rooms without prior permission from the Hostel Superintendent. Violations of this rule will result in the expulsion of the student concerned from the hostel.
2. Hostel Furniture shall not be moved from one room to another under any circumstances. Students are responsible for the care of furniture and fittings in their respective rooms. The cost of furniture and fittings will be recovered from them in case of any damage or loss.
3. Students are not allowed to use extra electrical fitting in their rooms unless permitted by the Hostel Superintendent.
4. All the rooms, doors and windows should be kept neat and tidy. Students should keep the toilets and bathrooms clean after their use.
5. If any misuse of computers and mobile phones in hostel rooms is brought to notice of Hostel authorities the respective student(s) will be expelled from the hostel.
6. Students should not paste any posters /pictures on the walls, doors, windows and shelves. Cut-outs should not be placed or brought in the hostel.
7. Student should not keep large amount of cash or costly items like electronic gadgets, jewellery etc. in their rooms. Hence, complaint about loss or theft of such costly items is discouraged.
8. Students should not arrange any functions, party or meeting within the hostel campus, without prior permission from the Hostel Superintendent.
9. Students having any Chronic/Communicable disease are not allowed to stay in hostel. Students feeling sick or feel symptoms of sickness should report to hostel warden for evacuation to hospital.
10. Lights and fans to be switched off when no one is in the room.
11. Students must take prior written permission from the Hostel Superintendent before giving any information or interview regarding hostel to Press, Radio, Television or any other media/social media.
12. No student shall bring or store any firearm, ammunition, explosive and inflammable goods in the premises of the hostel.
13. Drinking alcohol, smoking and drugs are strictly prohibited.
14. Ragging: Ragging in any form in strictly prohibited. It is an offence and violation will invite action as per law of the land in addition to rustication from the college. Being a silent spectator and not reporting/stopping others indulging in ragging is also an offence and will invite similar disciplinary action. Accepting/undergoing ragging and not reporting to this is also an offence. Please report any incident immediately to Hostel Superintendent.
15. Night out Permission: Night out shall not be allowed without the substantial reason. Hostel Superintendent may permit the student(s) in exceptional circumstances only for academic purpose and it should be conveyed to the Hostel Superintendent in writing at least one day before the Night out.
16. Pets: Students shall not bring and/or keep any pets in the premises including fish, cats, dogs, and so on. Students should desist from pampering stray dog by offering food, petting them etc.
17. Hostel Staff: Students shall treat the staff and housekeeping staff of the Hostel with due courtesy at all times. Service of the housekeeping staff shall NOT be utilized for private or personal work. No tips in cash or kind will be given to the staff of the Hostel.
18. indulging in any kind of argument, abuse or quarrel with co-hosteller is strictly prohibited. Any kind of misconduct should be immediately reported to Hostel Superintendent.
19. Non-Hosteller (Day Scholar) students are not permitted to enter the hostel campus.
20. Parents/Local Guardian/Visitors may meet the respective hosteller before 5:00 PM at the gallery area designated for parent-student meet. They are not permitted to visit the room.
21. Silence should be maintained strictly during study hours (8:00 PM to 10:00 PM). Action will be taken against the student(s) who do not maintain silence during study hours. Washing or Bathing during study hours is not allowed.
